Performing Artist (Violist):
Before the Alexander Technique, I never felt very comfortable playing my viola and felt I had reached a plateau in my progress. This technique has helped me grow and flourish as a performer with less effort and stress.
Injuries, pain and tension
By the age of 23, I was diagnosed with herniated cervical disks, pinched nerves, tendonitis, thoracic outlet syndrome, rotator cuff and knee damage. Now in my late 30's, despite these injuries, my body has learned to move more freely with little to no pain.
Anxiety and nerves
After suffering from panic attacks and continuous anxiety for most of my childhood and early adulthood this work has helped me learn to regulate my nervous system back into balance and step out of instinctual fight or flight mode.
I am a professional violist and passionate educator. I spent several years studying music performance, achieving a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and artist diploma in the discipline. I am a professional violist and passionate educator. I spent several years studying music performance, achieving a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and artist diploma in the discipline. After years of experiencing debilitating pain and anxiety, much of which was related to my activities as a performer, I discovered the Alexander Technique. Over the past 8 years, the Alexander philosophy and process transformed my life in remarkable ways and inspired me to become a certified Alexander Technique teacher so that I could help others experience similar transformations.
I have 6 years of intensive, in-person, hands-on training from the Philadelphia School for the Alexander Technique. Upon graduation, I received national certification to teach and am currently pursuing international certification. I have years of experience in leading remote and in-person sessions and workshops for college classes, individuals, and groups.
Classes are playful and experimental. I provide a safe space for students to explore learning to combine tactile, kinesthetic, visual and social stimuli into one sensory soup!
Movements are not strenuous and can be tailored to your needs. Movements range from supportive lie downs to improvisatory movements. I love thinking outside the box

Movements are not strenuous and can be tailored to your needs. Movements range from supportive lie downs to improvisatory movements. I love thinking outside the box and bringing a quality of fun and play to my classes no matter what your age!
I aspire to help you find better balance and greater ease in your body, whether you are trying to improve your artistic craft or to reduce your anxiety or pain.
The dynamic relationship of the head with the neck and with the rest of the body is of fundamental importance to relieving tension and discomfort in the body, no matter where you may be experiencing pain.
The Alexander Technique helps people start to slowly reconnect with and feel safe in their bodies. It calms down the biological fight–flight and freeze responses and actively retrains deeply ingrained habitual reactions.
We learn to consciously control our awareness and to intentionally guide our attention and focus towards the direction of our choice. This brings us a greater sense of ease and self empowerment in all aspects of our life, whether it’s how we move, how we think, how we perform, how we speak, how we relate to others, or how we relate to ourselves.
Our muscles, bones, fascia, ligaments and tendons, are brought back to balance by distributing tension across our entire structure, thereby relieving pressure and compression on specific joints.
The Alexander process shines a light on inefficient habits of movement that interfere with our natural ability to move easily and freely. Alexander Technique classes help you identify and undo the harmful habits you have formed over a lifetime of undergoing stress.
The Alexander Technique regards kinesthetic learning, or learning through whole-body dynamics, as the foundation for mindfulness.
Through kinesthetic learning and mindfulness, the Alexander process improves cognitive, social, and emotional development, enhances the brain's capacity to retain information, and improves self confidence.
